Scouting Notes: Yankees Let Down by Patient Approach in ALCS

Derek JeterLet's give Colby Lewis some credit. He did a very good job against the Yankees. But he wasn't as good as New York made him look in Game 6. Lewis, for the most part, made his pitches, but he also made a bunch of mistakes in the zone. Not every mistake gets hit hard, but the Yankees didn't seem capable of capitalizing.

Throughout the series the Yankees scuffled at the plate, and Friday night was no different. They just never seemed quite settled on an approach against a tough Texas staff, and they made things that much easier for guys like Lewis, who simply elected to attack the zone.
