Bobby Cox Ejected for Arguing Call in Second Inning of Game 2

SAN FRANCISCO -- Braves manager Bobby Cox, who has been ejected more times than any manager in big-league history, got tossed out of what may have been one of the final games of his career on Friday night.

In the second inning of Game 2 of the NLDS, Cox argued that Giants first baseman Aubrey Huff pulled his foot off the bag before retiring Alex Gonzalez. Cox asked for first-base umpire Paul Emmel to confer with plate umpire Paul Nauert.

They did, but the call stood. Cox then slammed his cap to the ground and Emmel tossed him. Emmel was the umpire who missed the call on a Buster Posey stolen base on Thursday night, leading to that game's only run.

Cox has been ejected from 158 regular season games and three in the postseason. He is planning to retire following the end of the 2010 season.
