That's going to be one of the biggest questions of the offseason in San Diego because Bell's making it clear that he'd like to see them extend one in his direction. Bell, who will be eligible for free agency after the 2011 season, told Dan Hayes of the North County Times that he'd like a three-year extension from the club. Bell, 33, made $4 million in 2010 and would be in line for a salary in the neighborhood of $7 million via arbitration.
"Three years is perfect," Bell said. "I don't expect more because I'm an older guy."
Perfection, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. Let's try and figure out what the Padres might be beholding, shall we?
