Raiders Pass Offense Nonexistent Without Bruce Gradkowski vs. 49ers

Score: 49ers 17, Raiders 9

The Storyline: Jason Campbell's performance at quarterback for the Raiders rivaled the worst outings by the deposed JaMarcus Russell. He was so bad the Raiders never really had a chance in Sunday's 17-9 loss to the 49ers. Campbell, starting in place of injured Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder), had a passer rating of 10.7. It was the lowest rating by a Raiders quarterback since Ken Stabler turned in a 9.9 rating against Cincinnati in 1975. Campbell didn't complete a pass in the second and third quarters and he finished 8 of 21 for 83 yards with two interceptions as the Raiders failed to reach the end zone. Alex Smith got off to a slow start, too, but regrouped to throw for two second half touchdowns against a tiring Raiders defense for the 49ers' first win after five losses.

Key Moment:
It was still a one possession game when the Raiders got the ball back with 3:14 left at their own 13-yard line following a 49ers punt. But three plays later, Campbell indeed had a rare completion, only it was to 49ers linebacker Takeo Spikes. It was Campbell's second interception of the day and the Raiders never got another chance as the 49ers offense ran out the final couple minutes after Frank Gore ran for a first down.

Where they stand: The Raiders, Chargers and Broncos are all at 2-4 ,tied for second in the AFC West, behind front-running Kansas City (3-2). The Raiders play at the Broncos in Denver next Sunday.
