Jason Michael Hired as Chargers Tight Ends Coach

Jason Michael a five-year NFL assistant who worked previously with Chargers coach Norv Turner has been hired as San Diego's new tight ends coach, the team announced Friday.

Michael replaces Rob Chudzinski, who left San Diego to become offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers.

Michel spent the last two seasons in San Francisco, first as an offensive assistant and last season as the team's quarterbacks coach. He also spent 2005 as an offensive quality control coach and video assistant in Oakland while Turner was the head coach there.
