Brett Keisel Added to Pro Bowl Squad, Replaces Dwight Freeney

Steelers' defensive end Brett Keisel has been added to the AFC Pro Bowl squad on Saturday by the NFL, joining his fellow teammates in linebacker James Harrison, rookie center Maurkice Pouncey and safety Troy Polamalu who were announced late December (Harrison and Polamalu are starters).

Keisel will make his first Pro Bowl appearance on Jan. 30 in Honolulu. The nine-year veteran from BYU was a first alternate, but was promoted to the active roster due to injured Colts' defensive end Dwight Freeney, who is unable to participate.

Keisel and the Steelers' defense held opponents to 62.8 rushing yards per game (1st in the league), 14.5 points per game (also number one in the NFL) and 48 sacks. Keisel finished the season with three sacks and an interception. His lone interception came when he returned it 79-yards for a touchdown (the first touchdown of his career) in week three when the Steelers defeated the Buccaneers, 38-13.
