Donnie Henderson, Cardinals Assistant Coach, Hospitalized After Fainting

In what has been a lost season for the two-time defending NFC West champions, the Arizona Cardinals suffered another loss before Saturday night's home game with the Dallas Cowboys when defensive backs coach Donnie Henderson fainted as he drove into the player parking lot at University of Phoenix Stadium. Henderson, who hit a cement bollard with his car, was alert and conscious when he was taken to a nearby hospital. He's expected to remain there overnight.

The 53-year-old Henderson is in his first year with the Cardinals and his 10th in the NFL. Drafted in the 10th round by the Detroit Lions out of Utah State in 1980, Henderson began his coaching career three years later at his alma mater. He reached the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens in 1999 and also worked for the New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars and the Lions before spending last season in the UFL.

Henderson missed an amazing start by his defensive backs. Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie picked off Jon Kitna's pass and returned it 32 yards for a touchdown just 2:13 into the game. The Cardinals then doubled their pleasure on the Cowboys' second series. Dallas had moved to the Arizona 39 in seven plays when receiver Roy Williams couldn't handle Kitna's pass. It deflected to second-year cornerback Greg Toler, who returned it 66 yards for a 14-0 lead just 6:36 into the game.
