Dolphins' Kicker Dan Carpenter Receives Another Honor

DAVIE, Fla. -- If Dan Carpenter continues on this pace he just might make a strong case to become just the second kicker in NFL history to be named league MVP.

For the second time in three weeks, the Miami Dolphins' kicker was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after making all five of his filed goals fin a 22-14 win at Cincinnati last Sunday. He was just the fifth player in NFL history to kick 10 field goals over a two-game span after also going 5-for-5 the week before in a 23-22 home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. On Oct. 17, Carpenter was 3-for-3, including the game-winner in overtime, in a 23-20 win at Green Bay and is 18-of-20 for the season.
