Buccaneers Need to Defeat a Winner to Really See How They Measure Up

Raheem Morris, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach, is fond of saying "stats are for losers." Maybe. But here is one statistic that is hard to ignore.

The combined record of the teams the Bucs (7-3) have defeated this season is 22-78 (.280).

The combined record of the teams the Bucs have lost to is 22-8 (Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Atlanta). That's a stat.

Prematurely, I got swept up as the Bucs' bandwagon got up to speed. I have one foot back on the ground now. We need to see how the Bucs measure up Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens (7-3) on the road.
