Austin Collie, Blair White Continue Recovery; Colts WR Chris Brooks Waived

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Colts waived wide receiver Chris Brooks on Monday.

While it's too early to know who the Colts will sign to the active roster to replace Brooks, the move may be an indication the team expects to get at least one of its injured front-line receivers back for the team's game at New England Sunday.

The Colts have been hit hard by injuries in recent weeks.

That has been particularly true at the receiver position, where Anthony Gonzalez has been placed on injured reserve, with Austin Collie (concussion) and Blair White (shoulder) each missing this past Sunday's victory over Cincinnati at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Collie was ruled out Tuesday, but White wasn't ruled out until game day. He practiced Wednesday, but not Thursday or Friday of last week.

Collie sustained a concussion Nov. 7 at Philadelphia.

Brooks did not play against the Bengals, but rookie Brandon James -- activated from the practice squad last week -- caught four passes for 36 yards.

The Colts entered the Bengals game with just two healthy receivers who had caught a pass in an NFL game: four-time Pro Bowl selection Reggie Wayne and third-year veteran Pierre Garcon.
