Casey Stoner Won At Silverstone To Take World Cup Lead

Casey Stoner won his 4th race win of the season and head of the MotoGP World Championship after his title rival Jorge Lorenzo has fallen in the rain at Silverstone.

Stoner, Repsol Honda rider has an almost perfect race from pole position to take his third consecutive victory and now leads defending champion Lorenzo with 18 points in the standings.

Stoner was beaten in the first corner of Lorenzo, but the Yamaha factory has been adopted by the Australian and Dovizioso teammate Andrea in the first round.

Lorenzo has also much a place in the framework of San Carlo Gresini Honda, Simoncelli, but only acquired when the Italian went wide and dropped to fourth place.

Lorenzo and Dovizioso ran between Simoncelli, as the three battled for second place, when the Spanish race ended when he was thrown over the handlebars.
