Josh Hamilton Hospitalized With Early Case of Pneumonia

Josh HamiltonStar outfielder Josh Hamilton was diagnosed with an early case of pneumonia Monday and is currently being treated at a Dallas-area hospital, the Texas Rangers announced.

The team is anticipating that the reigning AL MVP will be released from the hospital in the next 24 hours, and he should be able to resume baseball activities as he prepares for the 2011 season in the next few days.

Hamilton, 29, helped the Rangers to their first ever World Series in October, earning ALCS MVP honors along the way.
